Born in Dexter, Missouri. Graduate of Dexter High School.

Received his undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Arts, from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, in 1958, with a major in economics.

Received his Juris Doctor degree from the School of Law, University of Missouri, at Columbia, Missouri in 1960. While in law school, he was elected by the faculty as a member of the Missouri Law Review, an honor based on academic achievement, serving as a Revising Editor. He also was elected as a class representative to the Law School Student Government Association.

Admitted to the Missouri Bar and commenced practicing law in September of 1960.

Admitted to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri in 1964.

Served as an Associate Circuit Judge of Stoddard County, Missouri from March 1, 1986 to May 30, 1987.

Received additional training at the School of Law, University of Missouri, in civil mediation; approved as a mediator by the Missouri Bar.

Has tried jury trials and trials before the court (decision rendered by the Judge), in civil and criminal cases in various counties in Southern Missouri.

Has argued cases in the appellate courts of Missouri, including the Missouri Supreme Court and the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern and Southern Districts.

Active member of Dexter Kiwanis Club and other community and civic activities.

Member of First Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri.

47 years experience in the general practice of law, including trial and appellate practice.
